Advanced Placement Exams

In addition to earning credit and increasing your chances of college admissions, completing one of our AP Courses will help you prepare for the official AP Exams.

Exams are given once a year in May and you can take as many AP Exams as you wish. The AP Exam score is a weighted combination of your scores on the multiple-choice section and the free-response section. The final score is reported on a 5-point scale. In general, a score of 3 or higher is required to receive college credit.

With a qualifying AP Exam score, you can earn credit, advanced placement, or both at the majority of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. You can find out each college’s AP policy at www.collegeboard.org/apcreditpolicy or www.collegeboard.org/apintl
